Description

Despite high-quality intervention efforts to date, the prevalence of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use remains high, especially among emerging and young adults. Innovative approaches are needed to reach and engage young adults in the prevention and treatment of addiction. Social media sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, present a unique opportunity to create and deliver interventions that promote addiction reduction and abstinence among young adults. This presentation will focus on the use of social media among young adults and its potential utility in preventing and treating addiction.
