Description

This webinar is part two of a six-part specialty training series Addiction Treatment in Military & Veteran Culture. Regardless of the transitioning service member’s exposure to trauma or other challenging situations during their military service, leaving the military is a significant life change for service members and their families. The purpose of this presentation is to look at non-trauma related factors that can impact service members upon leaving the military. Participants will discuss how a lack of purpose and meaning, moral injury, needs fulfillment, and relationships can impact service members in post-military life. (Mobbs & Bonnano, 2018).

Mobbs, M. C., & Bonanno, G. A. (2018). Beyond war and PTSD: The crucial role of transition stress in the lives of military veterans. Clinical psychology review, 59, 137-144.
