Samson Teklemariam, MA, LPC, CPTM, has been a leader in the field of addiction treatment for over 10 years. With a background in CBT and experience leveraging eclectic clinical models, he has worked in a variety of treatment settings, including school-based, inpatient, adolescent academies, outpatient, prison-based, private practice, and family counseling settings. Teklemariam previously worked for Phoenix House Foundation as the National Director of Learning & Development; in this role, he managed a training department covering 100+ programs in 12 states.
Teklemariam drives organizational results with learning and development solutions for physicians, nurses, social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, recovery partners, and addiction treatment professionals. An innovator in addiction treatment, he has led several national change initiatives tailored for frontline partners in recovery targeting clinical supervision improvement, trauma-informed care, and leadership development. He is a certified lead trainer in Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBISA), Calm Every Storm, Seeking Safety, and Mapping Enhanced Counseling.
