Are specific licenses or certifications required to obtain NAADAC Approved Education Provider status?

Education providers must evidence that they and/or their trainers have the appropriate education, training, and experience specific to the topics that they are training.  This may include having the relevant certificate(s) of training, certification(s), license(s) and/or degree(s).

Do I need to apply to become a NAADAC Approved Education Provider if the training I intend to provide was previously provided by another NAADAC Approved Education Provider?

Yes. Any trainer wanting to train and be recognized independently as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider must apply independently.

Do I need to apply to become a NAADAC Approved Education Provider if I previously provided training for another NAADAC Approved Education Provider but now I want to perform my own trainings?

Yes. Any trainer wanting to train and be recognized independently as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider must apply independently.

I am a new trainer or my organization is new at training, do I need to send in evaluations with my application?

You can either submit (1) three (3) letters of reference (see Form C) or (2) compiled evaluations, including individual participants’ comments, from two (2) different courses previously offered.

May I seek “pre-approval” for my application?

No. NAADAC does not have a pre-approval process. However, after an application is submitted, you will be provided with feedback on your application and an opportunity to make any necessary corrections.

If we are a current NAADAC Approved Academic provider and we want to apply to become a NASAC Approved Provider, do we have to complete the full application for NASAC approval?

You will have the opportunity to use an abbreviated application.  Please contact the NAADAC office for more information.

How should I send in my application for approval?

Please send your application, including all necessary forms and attachments, electronically to [email protected]. The application and all supporting material should be typed.

Can I sell, purchase, trade, gift or otherwise transfer a NAADAC Approved Education Providership or provider number?

No. NAADAC Approved Education Providerships and Approved Education Provider numbers are non-transferable.

My event already passed. Can I apply to have it approved retroactively?

No. NAADAC must approve all events – including co-sponsored events- before they happen.

I/my organization received approval to offer an unlimited number of trainings for two years as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, but I want to add more courses/trainings to my roster. Do I have to reapply?

No. You/your organization simply needs to fill out the Application to Add to Training Portfolio and associated forms and email your application to [email protected].
