ALEXANDRIA, VA – NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, applauded the appointment of Dr. Kimberly Johnson to serve as the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
“We congratulate Dr. Johnson on her appointment to CSAT. Her diverse experience will be a benefit to SAHMSA and to the substance use community at large.” said Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, Executive Director of NAADAC. “We have worked with Dr. Johnson in the past and look forward to working with her in this new role.”
Johnson serves as the deputy director for operations of CHESS/NIATx, a research center at the University of Wisconsin that focuses on systems improvement in behavioral health. She is also currently co-director of the national coordinating office of the Addiction Technology Transfer Center. Prior to those roles, she served for seven years as the director of the Office of Substance Abuse in Maine, where she created plans to address the opioid epidemic and increase accessibility to treatment.
