On November 17, 2016, NAADAC's Director of Training, Thomas Durham, presented “Overview of Substance Use Disorders” to employees of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a research facility in Ashburn, Virginia. The class was comprised of research scientist who work in a state-of-the-art neurobiology research facility in a uniquely innovative, collaborative atmosphere. The facility is an environmental-friendly structure built into a hillside. Durham noted that the group of attendees was one of the most interesting and inquisitive groups he had ever trained.
