NAADAC at the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) Annual Conference

NAADAC's Grants Program Coordinator, Ace Crawford, Exhibits and Ad Sales Manager, Jeff Smith, and Operations Coordinator, Zoey Kim, attended the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) 28th National Leadership Forum and SAMHSA’s 14th annual Prevention Day at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland on February 5 – 8, 2018. CADCA’s National Leadership Forum, the largest training event for community-based substance use disorder prevention professionals, hosted nationally-known prevention experts, federal administrators, and concerned policymakers.

Over the course of the conference, Crawford and Kim discussed with attendees what NAADAC is, what NAADAC offers, and how NAADAC, as the largest membership-based addiction professional organization in the nation, supports and advocates for the addiction profession.

“Many people asked us, ‘How can NAADAC help me advance my career?’” said Kim. “People were excited about joining when we told them that we offer webinars worth over 145 CEs combined that are both free for members and available on demand.”

“The folks we spoke with were also very interested to hear about the conferences and other NAADAC training events that take place across the country each year, and all of the advocacy work that NAADAC does on behalf of the addiction profession,” added Crawford.  While at the event, Smith connected with NAADAC partners and created new connections with organizations. Each was excited to learn more about and be a part of NAADAC’s 2018 Annual Conference: Shoot for the Stars.

The three day event attracted a wide range of attendees, from industry thought leaders to high school students interested in joining the profession. “It was a pleasure to represent NAADAC at this event,” shared Crawford.
