NAADAC's Executive Director, Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, NCAC II, CDC III, SAP, and Treasurer, Mita M. Johnson, EdD, LPC, MAC, SAP, attended the Colorado Association of Addiction Professionals (CAAP) Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, on June 21-22.
The conference featured nationally-acclaimed keynote speakers, workshop presenters, learning tracks, and networking opportunities to allow attendees the opportunity to elevate their practice.
Moreno Tuohy led a series of round table discussions regarding a variety of topics that affect addiction professionals, including navigating the world of Medicaid and third-party payors, the role of a professional development organization, the emerging role of technology in the delivery of services, and the functionality of treatment agencies. She also presented on national credentialing, integrating motivational interviewing with pharmacotherapy, and conflict resolution tools for recovery.
The conference also featured a legal clinic to allow practitioners the opportunity bring questions, concerns, and ideas to practicing attorneys to receive answers and feedback and the opportunity to use an EHR.
