NAADAC 2020 Virtual Hill Day
The world is changing, and so is the addiction profession. On October 6-7, 2020, over 500 addiction professionals from across the country joined their voices together to advocate for addiction professionals and those we serve on Capitol Hill. Dozens of meetings took place virtually around the country, bringing together seasoned advocated and first-time advocates for virtual meetings with lawmakers to advance issues of importance to our profession.
We were joined by U.S. Representative Paul Tonko (D-NY) during the briefing on October 6th, and he spoke about the importance of advocacy for the addiction profession. Congressman Tonko is a member of the Congressional Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus and is a strong supporter of expanding access to substance use disorder treatment.
