The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the nature of clinical counseling as workers and clients must remain socially distant. The lack of face-to-face contact posits various problems as the client’s mental status exam and verification of sobriety must be adjusted. Clinical skills must also be adjusted for effective application for distance counseling. This presentation will provide participants with clinical tools (worksheets) for direct application for telehealth. Participants will learn new ways to conduct the mental status exam. Participants will also identify ways to respond to crisis situations when engaging in telehealth. Earn 1.5 CEs!
