Description

What if a simple conversation could help someone take that first step toward recovery? CCAR, the developer of the most widely used and trusted curriculum for recovery coaches across the globe, has created a Beginner’s Guide to Coaching Recovery – an introductory class to help initiate and navigate a conversation with someone struggling with substance use. Family members, friends, and colleagues are often the first to notice the problem, but may not have the tools to broach the topic. This session will help you have that conversation.

Presenter

Phil Valentine, RCP, is best known for his distinguished career as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), and is admired in recovery circles for his advancement of recovery coaching. Valentine, who has been in recovery from alcoholism and cocaine addiction since 1987, is also an advocate, trainer, podcaster, blogger, and presenter. Throughout his years of facilitating the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and other training programs offered to help build the professional of recovery coaching, Valentine has impacted thousands of people through his use of personal stories, knowledge of recovery, and a belief that everyone can recover.
