Procedure

STEP 1: Download Nomination Form
STEP 2: Return completed form to NAADAC by:

  • Email to elections@naadac.org (preferred method)
    • Put “Nomination” in the subject line
  • Fax to 703-741-7698
  • Mail to NAADAC, Attn: Nominations & Elections, 44 Canal Center Plaza Ste. 301, Alexandria, VA 22314.

NAADAC is accepting nominations for the following officer positions for the 2020-2022 term:
  • President-Elect
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
NAADAC is accepting nominations for the following Regional Vice President positions for the 2020-2022 term:
  • Mid-Atlantic (Represents DE, DC, MD, NJ, PA, VA, WV)
  • Mid-South (Represents AR, LA, OK, TX)
  • Northeast (Represents CT, ME, MA, NH, NY, RI, VT)
  • Northwest (Represents AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY)
Qualifications and Criteria for Candidates

Only members in good standing who have been actively engaged in work in addiction counseling or as an addiction professional for at least two years immediately prior to nomination shall be eligible for an elective office with the Association.
 

Executive Committee

Candidates for NAADAC officer positions must be nominated by a member of the NAADAC Board of Directors (BOD) or a Regional Vice President (RVP).

President-Elect:

  1. The ability to perform and fulfill all duties and functions of the President as enumerated and described in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.
  2. Current NAADAC Professional Membership in good standing.
  3. A minimum of two years of active engagement in the addiction profession immediately prior to the nomination.
  4. A minimum of two years of experience on either the NAADAC Board of Directors or a NAADAC AffiliateBoard (State/Chapter/International).
  5. Chaired a standing NAADAC committee or served on the NCC AP.
  6. Qualifications a-c and d or e shall be met by all candidates for President-Elect.

Secretary:

  1. The ability to perform and fulfill all duties and functions of the Secretary as enumerated and described in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.
  2. Current NAADAC Professional membership in good standing.
  3. A minimum of two years of active engagement in the addiction profession immediately prior to nomination.
  4. A minimum of two years of experience on either the NAADAC Board of Directors or a NAADAC AffiliateBoard.
  5. Chaired a standing NAADAC committee or served on the NCC AP.
  6. Qualifications a-c and d or e shall be met by all candidates for Secretary.

Treasurer:

  1. The ability to perform and fulfill all duties and functions of the Treasurer as enumerated and described in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.
  2. Current NAADAC Professional Membership in good standing.
  3. A minimum of two years of active engagement in the addiction profession immediately prior to the nomination.
  4. A minimum of two years of experience on either the NAADAC Board of Directors or a NAADAC Affiliate Board.
  5. Chaired a standing NAADAC committee or served on the NCC AP.
  6. Qualifications a-c and d or e shall be met by all candidates for Treasurer.

Regional Vice-Presidents

Nominees for the position of Regional Vice President must represent a state wherein an Affiliated State Association is in place and may only be nominated for a region in which they reside. Nominees from each region shall come from a state Affiliate other than the state of the incumbent RVP unless a qualified nominee from another state in the region cannot be found.

Additional Requirements for Regional Vice President Nominees:

  1. The ability to perform and fulfill all duties and functions of an RVP as enumerated and described in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.
  2. Current NAADAC Professional Membership in good standing.
  3. A minimum of two years of active engagement in the addiction profession immediately prior to the nomination.
  4. A minimum of two years of experience on either the NAADAC Board of Directors or a NAADAC Affiliate Board.
  5. Reside and work in the region represented.
  6. Qualifications a-e shall be met by all candidates for RVP.

Organizational Delegate 

NAADAC is accepting nominations for an Organizational Delegate for the 2020-2022 term.

The Organizational Delegate sits on the NAADAC Board of Directors and is leads the recruitment of the other organization members in order to receive benefits specific to organizations, build a unified voice in the addiction profession and raise the awareness throughout treatment organizations of the identity of the addiction profession.

  • Nominees for the position Organizational Delegate must represent an organization/agency that is a current Organizational Member.
