Oct 11-13 Addiction Medicine: A Case-based Approach to Managing Addiction in Special Populations and Related Issues

Physicians: $450 for both days or $300 for one day
Allied Health Professionals: $350 for both days or $200 for one day
Residents/Fellows in Training: $250 for both days or $150 for one day


During October of each year, the Division on Addiction hosts a course called Addiction Medicine. The primary focus of the 2013 course is a Case-based Approach to Managing Addiction in Special Populations and Related Issues. 

According to results from the National Survey on Drug Use & Health conducted by SAMHSA -  In 2011, 21.6 million people aged 12 or older needed treatment for an illicit drug or alcohol use problem.  An estimated 20.6 million persons aged 12 or older were classified with substance dependence or abuse in the past year.

The Addiction Medicine activity imparts information on methods of diagnosis and protocols for intervention and managements of patients with substance abuse and dependence. Our expert faculty provides a forum for dialogue and participant interaction through lectures, case-studies and Q & A.
