| Aug 23-25 | Eating Disorders Conference August 23 – 24, 2013 Denver, Colorado Up to 16 Continuing Education Credits are available to various disciplines. Held in scenic Denver, Colorado, the annual Eating Recovery Center Foundation Eating Disorders Conference brings together distinguished eating disorders treatment experts to discuss the trends, developments and emerging best practices shaping the field. Limited registration and an interactive educational program supports connection and collaboration among attending members of the eating disorders treatment community, including physicians, therapists, nurses, dietitians and advocacy organizations. Session topics include: Medical care of patients with anorexia and bulimia; New developments in the field of eating disorders treatment; Understanding and addressing patient resistance; Sustainable eating disorder recovery for children and adolescents; Ethical challenges in the treatment of eating disorders; Nutritional intervention and meal plan compliance in eating disorder recovery; Managing transitions between the treatment facility and outpatient care; Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in eating disorders treatment; and Development, marketing and administrative best practices for outpatient eating disorders professionals. | Oct 10 | Using the DSM-5® for Accurate Diagnosis & Treatment Planning Colorado Springs, CO DSM-5® is applicable in a wide diversity of contexts and is intended for use among clinicians and researchers practicing in academic, inpatient, outpatient, residential, partial hospital, private practice, primary care, clinical, community and consultant settings. This workshop meets the pressing needs of these professionals as they are required to facilitate more accurate diagnosis of mental health disorders and strive for more common language to communicate with patients and to promote measurement-based care. The DSM-5® represents a fundamental shift in how disorders are conceptualized and diagnosed. This timely workshop provides more than an overview of the manual, its new organization and other innovations such as spectrum disorders. Participants have the chance to practice using the new system and its changes as they relate to major psychiatric diagnostic groups. This workshop acts as a powerful tool to help participants effectively apply the methodology of the DSM-5® to every day practice. You will learn effective interpretation strategies to make sure you diagnose and set treatment plans with the level of accuracy required for the new diagnostic protocol. More information |
