Insurance Provider
Under the new laws, can LCDC's become providers for insurance?  I do not know the answer.  I am a provider for many insurances but that is due to the two licenses I have one is LPC and the other is LCDC.  Under the new laws that everyone should have insurance I feel many of the grants for treatment will disappear and so will the LCDCs.  I know too many individuals have worked hard to earn and keep the LCDC and it will be bad if they loose.  We might have to look into the situation as an organization.

Since only chemical dependency counselors have the specialized training necessary to integrate both substance abuse and mental health counseling, I don't understand how they won't be providers... Why do you feel they will be out of the loop? Who will do the work?
