Medicare reimbursement for CAP's

I read in a recent newsletter that CAP's can be reimbursed by Medicare.

Has anyone else heard this?  If so, where can I find out more?

In Montana here.  I have never heard that and, as a matter of fact, I was sent a special letter by an insurance company for which I am a provider that I, under no circumstances could bill for a client who was in there special Medicare plan.  It was one of those if words and punctuation together could speak would sound more like a punishment than a notice.  The Department of Public Health and HS in Montana delegate the authority to operate its medicaid program to the Addictive and Mental Disorders Division.  The AMDD allows for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors and LCSW to receive reimbursement, but does not allow reimbursement to Addiction Counselors.  Something wrong with this picture.

I have not heard that John.  If it were true, it would be known nationally and not by State.  Anyone else want to participate in this?  Anyone else have a new topic for discussion.  If not, I do.  There has always been a Caste (sp?) System in Psychiatry.  It went from M.D. to Ph.D. to Psy.D, to LCPC requiring Masters, to Addiction Counselors.  We are at the bottom of the barrel now.  I would like to bring this to the fore. Is it because we do not require Master's degrees.  I do have a graduate degree, and would not like to cast aspersions on anyone.  Butl, here in Montana, one does not even require an Associate's degree.  Could that have something to do with our "Status".  It is a reality.
