VisionWVAADC is the State organization of addiction-focused professionals who enhance the health and recovery of individuals, families and communities. Goals1. To encourage the development of appropriate alcoholism and drug abuse services in all state, county, municipal and private organizations. 2. To promote and assist in the further development of training for individuals to increase professional competency in the delivery of services in the field of treatment, education, research, and prevention of alcoholism and drug abuse. 3. To advocate for the certification system for professionals in the chemical dependency field. 4. To provide opportunities for professional interactions among members of the profession and/or related disciplines and to further the dissemination of information relative to the field of alcoholism and drug abuse. 5. To develop and promote publication of high standards of professional education, ethics, experience and achievement. 6. To establish professional identity for addiction professionals. 7. To provide peer assistance to addiction professionals. 8. To recognize outstanding work and contributions to the field. 9. To advocate for legislative change related to alcohol and drug abuse and other addictions. |
