Sep 8-13 New England School of Best Practices in Addiction Treatment
September 8 to 12, 2013
Waterville, New Hampshire

The School is a four-day intensive experience for participants to further their knowledge, skills, and experience in the field of addiction treatment, recovery, prevention, and intervention services through in-depth coursework. While open to all, these courses are designed for professionals with at least five years of experience.

This event offers training on evidence-based and promising approaches specific to addressing addiction and is designed with the seasoned professional in mind. The courses offered are intended to appeal to a wide array of professionals working in diverse settings. Courses offerings this year have been expanded to address macro area of addiction practice such as fiscal oversight and developing effective management skills.

Co-Occurance, Diagnosis and Key Changes

A Six Hour Training Event

This training will focus on changes to common mental health disorders.  Diagnostic criteria will be reviewed with ample opportunity to apply to everyday clinical practice situations.  Specific attention will be placed on differential diagnosis between substance induced and independent psychiatric disorders.  Discussion will focus on the implications of these changes to screening, assessment, diagnostic coding and treatment planning for PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders and others as time permits.
