Attendees of NAADAC's 2003 Public Policy Day, held September 17 in the Senate Hart Office Building in Washington, DC, are still buzzing about the tremendous success of the event. Hundreds of addiction professionals participated. Top lawmakers and officials in the field of healthcare spoke, including:
- Reps. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), Michael R. McNulty (D-NY), and Jim Ramstad (R-MN).
- Senators Jack Reed (D-RI), James Jeffords (I-VT), and Joe Biden (D-DE).
- Honorable Kurt Schmoke, Dean of Howard University Law School (former Mayor of Baltimore).
Below are snapshots from the event, which fittingly coincided with National Addictions Counselor Day.
