Description: There are three primary medications that are currently approved by the federal government for this purpose; methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone. This webinar will focus on how medications are used to treat chronic opioid addiction, and will include the science in support of opioid addiction treatment and changing patterns in prescription opioid use as patients enter treatment. The presentation will respond to frequently asked questions about this treatment option in addition to discussing some of the most pressing challenges and initiatives affecting our profession.
