The Department of Transportation (DOT) has established regulations to prevent, through deterrence and detection, alcohol and controlled substance users from performing transportation industry safety-sensitive functions. Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs) are responsible for evaluating those employees who have violated a DOT drug and/or alcohol regulation and makes recommendations to an employer concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing and continuing care. Whether you are an addiction professional interested in this population or a private clinician looking to expand your business, becoming a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) can result in a lucrative and exciting practice. This webinar will outline the DOT Alcohol and Drug Testing Program, the role of the Substance Abuse Professional and how addiction professionals can expand their businesses through this qualification.
