Description: This two hour session is divided into two parts -

1)  Preparing for Healthcare Implementation in 2014: What Addiction Professionals Need to Know About Medicaid Expansion

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), signed into law March 23, 2010, includes a significant expansion, beginning in 2014, of Medicaid to an estimated 16 million individuals. This expansion will greatly impact substance abuse disorder services.  This webinar will provide a general overview of the Medicaid expansion slated for 2014 and the implications and opportunities for addiction professionals.

2)  Preparing to Bill for Medicaid - What you Need to Know

Medicaid Expansion is on the horizon and as a result, many providers are preparing themselves to increase their case load as well as improve their billing process.  In the first part of the presentation, we will cover the basic things providers should know if they would like to get setup as a contract provider for Medicaid. This includes:

  1. NPI number – What is an NPI number, why does a provider need an NPI number and how does a provider obtain one.
  2. Contracting with Medicaid – What you should know about different state requirements
  3. Review typical Medicaid enrollment process
  4. What type of help (if any) is there for you?
