Vena SchexnayderVena M. Schexnayder has joined NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, as its Special Projects Coordinator. Her responsibilities include implementation and monitoring of special projects for the association and development of funding proposals and strategic partnerships. Schexnayder assists the Executive Director and the Director of Affiliates with daily operational tasks to support and fortify current internal and external NAADAC initiatives in marketing, education, conferences and advocacy.

Schexnayder has over ten years of experience working with several local and state non- profit organizations such as the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Central Arkansas, assisting at-risk youth, juveniles and substance abuse and rehabilitation populations. She simultaneously works in the area of prescription drug management and inventory control for Inova Health Systems. She previously worked as a Drug Court Counselor for the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections 5th Judicial District and served on the Advisory Committee as the Drug Diversion Liaison for the River Valley Methamphetamine Project. Schexnayder received her BA in Criminal Justice and MA in Criminal Justice Policy from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She also has a graduate certification in Conflict Mediation from UALR and the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, as a CPhT, certified pharmacy technician.

Schexnayder is pursuing her CSAC credentials by completing coursework from the Northern Virginia Community College, with a Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counselor Certificate.
