NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, will be co-hosting its Annual Conference in partnership with its Texas affiliate, the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP). The conference will be held in Corpus Christi, Texas, from July 7th to 9th, 2005.

The Conference, following up on NAADAC's successful 2004 meeting in West Yellowstone, Montana, will provide the opportunity for participants to learn about new research and clinical strategies. Seminars will include topics on Clinical Supervision, Relapse and Recovery, Management of Grief and Loss, Gambling Addiction and Pharmacologic Therapies, as well as many other issues.

NAADAC President Mary Woods, RNC, LADC, MSHS, welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with the Texas Association. "Working together and building partnerships allows us to accomplish more and stretch our resources farther. NAADAC's cooperation with TAAP is the positive model we plan to continue in the future," she said.

The conference will include a visit to the Texas State Aquarium for the NAADAC and TAAP Presidents' dinner. Participants will enjoy live aquatic exhibits and a buffet dinner with an amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico. The dinner event will include award presentations honoring recipients from the addiction profession.

Invited speakers to the conference include Dr. H. Westley Clark, the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Dr. Nora D. Volkow, Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and Charles G. Curie, Administrator of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Full registration details for the conference are available at www.taap.org or at www.naadac.org. A list of NAADAC's annual awards is available at www.naadac.org.
