WASHINGTON, D.C. - The nation's largest association focused on the professional development, ethics and education of addiction-related professionals has a new President, Donald P. Osborn, MS, MA, MAC, LMHC, Director and Professor of Graduate Addictions and Executive Director of the Addictions Studies Center at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Osborn, a certified Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), Indiana Certified Addictions Counselor (ICAC) and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) has served on several NAADAC committees and currently serves as Chair of the National Addiction Studies and Standards Committee. Previously he has served two terms as the NAADAC Mid-Central Regional Vice President, and served as board member and state president of Indiana.

"The challenges facing our individual members and state affiliates are the same challenges facing NAADAC," said Osborn in a statement. "My challenge will be to explore avenues of growth for NAADAC and the profession of addictions. It is important to represent the addictions profession and its members as opportunities present themselves. It is NAADAC's responsibility to keep members informed on current issues and trends that will impact the individual counselor. I want to be a resource and have the resources to address the needs of individual members and the affiliates."

Joining Osborn on the Executive Committee are:

Robert C. Richards, MA, CADC III, NCAC II, from Eugene, Ore., as President-Elect; Edward Olsen, LCSW, CASAC, SAP, from Lake Grove, N.Y., as Treasurer; Roger A. Curtiss, NCAC II, LAC, from Great Falls, Mont., as Secretary; Thomas Durham, PhD, LADC, CCS, from Olney, MD as Mid-Atlantic Regional Vice President and Barbara K. Fox, CAC, ICADC, LADC,
from Manchester, Conn., as Northeast Regional Vice President.
