Almost $17,000 in Scholarships Awarded

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - NAADAC will award 47 scholarships for the 2010 National Conference on Addiction Disorders in Washington D.C. Professionals from 38 states and American Samoa received scholarships, totaling almost $17,000.
The conference is an incredible opportunity for addiction therapists, counselors, social workers, administrators, executives and other professionals focused on addition prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery to learn the latest advancements, methodologies and research that are shaping current and future addiction treatment programs. The agenda will consist of programs and seminars that deal with treatment, administration, finance, design, technical and medical professional issues, with keynote speakers from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration SAMHSA, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Hazelden and other major organizations.
NIDA and Hazelden are also sponsoring the event, in addition to The Right Step/Spirit Lodge, Preventative Medicine Associates Incorporated, the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA) and the National Library of Addictions, Inc.
NAADAC is proud to present the scholarships to professionals around the nation who would otherwise be unable to attend the NCAD - the first annual conference combining NAADAC's national annual conference, membership meeting and Board of Directors meeting with SECAD.
