Roger Curtiss, president and executive director of the Rocky Mountain Treatment Center, a free-standing inpatient treatment facility in Great Falls, Mont., is the new president of NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, which is the nation's largest association for alcohol and drug disorders counselors.

"I envision NAADAC to be the premier organization that will provide leadership with a clear and positive focus to help increase public funding, enhance public policy, strengthen research and prevention, and someday provide treatment on demand for all who need it," said Curtiss.

Curtiss served as treasurer of NAADAC from 1998 to 2002 and co-chaired the association's 2000 Leadership Committee. Elected by the association's members, Curtiss officially takes office at NAADAC's 26th annual conference in Boston on July 6.

Curtiss began his 20 year career in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling as a halfway house manager and counselor and went on to be the executive director at two unique non-profit outpatient facilities in Montana. He is a Montana Licensed Addiction Counselor and a Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor II.

Curtiss has received numerous awards in recognition of his work. He was named Wyoming's Substance Abuse Director of the Year in 1992 and was presented with the Founders Award by U.S. Senator Max Baucus, D-Mont., for his work in starting a drug court in Bozeman, Mont.
