The nomination process for the 2008 NAADAC election opened today as candidates can put their names forward for leadership positions in the association.

Every two years, NAADAC members have the opportunity to select the officers who will determine the direction of the association. In April of 2008, NAADAC members will select a new President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer.

There will also be elections for four Regional Vice Presidents for the Mid-Atlantic region, the Mid-South region, the Northeast region and the Northwest region. All positions are for two-year terms.

Only members in good standing who have been actively engaged in work in addiction counseling or as an addiction focused professional are eligible for an elective office with NAADAC.

To be eligible as a candidate, or to vote in the elections, NAADAC members must be in good standing as of February 1, 2008.

NAADAC members will vote between April 1 and April 30, 2008.
