Patricia M. Greer, LCDC, AAC, has assumed the NAADAC Presidency, stepping in for outgoing NAADAC President Sharon Morgillo Freeman, PhD, APRN-CS, MAC. Dr. Morgillo Freeman, citing professional and international obligations, stepped down from her position in mid-July.

Dr. Morgillo Freeman was saddened to be leaving but realized that her obligations would not allow her to continue in her current role. "I have been pleased to serve the members of NAADAC. Due to the speed at which my private practice is growing as well as my expanding duties nationally and internationally in the profession, I am no longer able to serve as the President of NAADAC. I wish the association and all of its members, the Board of Directors and staff all of the best as they move forward."

"I congratulate and welcome Pat Greer as the incoming President of NAADAC. I know she will be capable, compassionate and diligent in her role as President," stated Dr. Morgillo Freeman.

New NAADAC President Greer thanked Dr. Morgillo Freeman for her service. "NAADAC thanks Sharon for her valuable role as President during her tenure. NAADAC looks forward to building upon the foundation Sharon and other NAADAC leaders have established."

Ms. Greer, who served as a NAADAC Regional Vice president for three years, is focused on building the association for the future needs of the addiction services profession. "Our future requires that we continue to define our capabilities, demonstrate our professionalism and network with the other professional disciplines to ensure that the highest quality of care is available to the people who need our services," stated Ms. Greer.

"There has never been a better time to organize our resources and use them to our best advantage. I see a bright future, an inclusive future, and NAADAC as a force for positive change in our profession," added Ms. Greer.
