Celebrating National Addiction Counselors' Day, NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, will host an Open House on September 20, 2006, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at its national office at 901 N. Washington Street, Suite 600, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314. NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, is the largest organization for addiction-focused health care professionals. NAADAC is committed to the professional development of individuals who treat and prevent addiction.

National Addiction Counselors' Day is held in September as a part of Recovery Month, a time when people throughout the nation are celebrating their success in overcoming addiction. National Addiction Counselors' Day recognizes the important work that tens of thousands of addiction counselors perform in addiction prevention, intervention and treatment. Without the powerful work of addiction counselors there is no addiction profession.

"We welcome everyone to visit us on September 20th, or hold their own local event to celebrate the powerful work that addiction counselors do. As each life is recovered, that helps the whole family and eventually translates into the recovery of a community," said Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, Executive Director of NAADAC.
