| NAADAC Forms Partnerships to Host National Conference |

Unique location, educational opportunities planned for September2006 For Immediate Release - Alexandria, VA Donovan Kuehn NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, will co-host its 2006 annual conference with the California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC) and the National Association of Lesbian and Gay Addiction Professionals (NALGAP). The conference, scheduled for September 28 to October 1, 2006 in Burbank, California, is the first cooperative effort between all three associations.
In keeping with the conference's theme: Strengthening the Addiction Workforce: Building for the Future, a Workforce Development track will be offered, featuring a special presentation by Kathy Jett, Director of the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs. NAADAC President Mary Woods, RNC, LADC, MSHS, is enthusiastic about the conference. "Working together and building partnerships allows us to accomplish more and stretch all our resources farther. NAADAC's cooperation with CAADAC and NALGAP is a positive model we plan to continue in the future," she said. The conference will offer over 23 continuing education credits and will also feature 12 hours of special training for Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP) who need to re-qualify under US Department of Transportation regulations.
