In April 2006, NAADAC members elected a new set of leaders to serve on the NAADAC Executive Committee and to lead the association for the 2006-2008 term.

The newly elected committee includes Patricia Greer of Rockwell, Texas, as President-Elect, Sharon DeEsch of Dallas as Secretary and Alvin Feliciano of San Deigo as Treasurer. Also elected were three Regional Vice Presidents: Nancy Deming of Fairmont, W.Va. for the Mid-Atlantic region; Edward Olsen of Lakewood, N.Y. for the Northeast region; and Robert Richards of Eugene, Ore. for the Northwest region.

Greer, a NAADAC Regional Vice president for three years, is focused on building the association for the future needs of the addiction services profession. "Our future requires that we continue to define our capabilities, demonstrate our professionalism, and network with the other professional disciplines to insure that the highest quality of care is available to the people who need our services," stated Greer.

DeEsch, a commissioner on the NAADAC National Certification Board, stated that her purpose in running for Secretary was to help the organization prosper. "I have always believed that we counselors are stronger by joining together at all levels," she stated.

Feliciano, current Treasurer for NAADAC's California affiliate, believes ambitious goals must be set for the association. "The thrust for NAADAC needs to be focused on unification of the treatment community under the banner of excellence, ethics, education and professionalism. To achieve this lofty goal, NAADAC needs a solid financial foundation," he stated.

"The quality and caliber of NAADAC's newly elected leaders is a testament to the strength of the addiction services profession," said Mary Woods, NAADAC President.

NAADAC's new leaders will take office after the end of the Board of Directors Meeting at NAADAC's Annual Conference in Burbank, California. NAADAC's newly elected executive join Sharon Morgillo Freeman, who will take office as NAADAC President.
