Sharon Morgillo Freeman, PhD, APRN-CS, and President Elect of NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, was named a "Top Doc" of 2006 by the Fort Wayne Business Journal in its annual ranking of health professionals.

The Business Journal surveyed 5,000 physicians and nurses in northeast Indiana, asking who they believe to be the best in their field when taking into account professional qualifications, reputations and skills for 40 common specialties. Dr. Morgillo Freeman received the highest number of votes in the psychiatry category. She also received the highest number of votes overall.

Dr. Morgillo Freeman said when she found out she was named a 2006 "Top Doc," she was "taken aback" by the recognition. Dr. Morgillo Freeman currently serves as Director of The Center for Brief Therapy, PC, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She works with two collaborating psychiatrists, Dr. Ronald Pancer and Dr. Prevesh Rustagi, saying, "My practice wouldn't be what it is without the two of them. They are the best psychiatrists in Fort Wayne."

Dr. Morgillo Freeman has been a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist for over twenty years. Her practice concentrates on psychotherapy and incorporates information from schools, families, medical records and family physicians to create a complete clinical package.

Dr. Morgillo Freeman has lectured nationally and internationally on the problems of addiction and is a lecturer for senior medical residents at the University of Pennsylvania. She has a Ph.D. in Sociology and two master's degrees, is board certified as a Cognitive Therapist by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, has national certification as an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and senior level international certification as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) through NAADAC.

Dr. Morgillo Freeman is grateful for the Fort Wayne Business Journal's honoring her practice, and says she cannot imagine doing anything else.
