Donovan KuehnDonovan Kuehn serves as the Director of Strategic Planning and Outreach for NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. He currently plans, directs and coordinates the operations of NAADAC and publicizes NAADAC's accomplishments and goals, building the association's public profile and enhancing the association's strategic planning.

Kuehn was the lead organizer on a series of NAADAC conferences funded by the
US Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration/Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (SAMHSA/CSAT) designed to promote collaboration between addiction and mental health counselors on strategies for identifying and assisting clients with co-occurring disorders. The conferences, produced in association with the American Mental Health Counselor's Association (AMHCA), led to a report on the need for more collaboration and cross training between the two professions.

While serving as Editor of the
NAADAC News, the publication won an Apex Award for Communication Excellence in  2008. In 2010, Kuehn won a Rising Star Scholarship from the Angerosa Research Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2003 to conduct industry research to benefit the association publishing and marketing professions.

Before joining NAADAC, Kuehn worked with non-profit organizations to build strategic alliances between community groups, businesses and local government. He also worked on projects to bridge the "digital divide" by providing access and training in the use of technology for seniors, youth, immigrants and other communities. Kuehn has experience in implementing and reviewing short and long-range communications plans; managing internal and external communications, developing trainings, educational materials, literature and other resources; overseeing media events; organizing large and small scale conferences and seminars; and providing assistance to state associations in support of their events and objectives.

Kuehn holds a degree in Entrepreneurial Management from
Royal Roads University and a Geography degree from the University of British Columbia.
